About Shorewood, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Shorewood is a lovely village in northeastern Illinois, not far from Chicago.  With a population of about 15,000 residents, it is a small suburban escape from the urban hustle and bustle.  Though it’s not like Chicago in very many ways, its weather is similar; cold in the winter, warm in the summer and a bit windy.  This small town is the ideal place for settling down and raising a family.  Situated along the Dupage River, it is beautiful, quiet and safe.

Shorewood began as a fishing and resort area.  It was not until 1957 that Shorewood was incorporated as a village and, with that, has grown steadily. In the 21st century it has experienced such an unexpected population boom that the schools dealt with overpopulation and the town had to rush to accommodate its new residents.   The little river town’s beauty and tranquility had become less of a secret and everyone wanted to see what it had to offer.  With moderate weather and a safe environment in which to live, it is a fabulous place to live, work and play.

As one would expect in a family-friendly river town, spring and summer are fun-filled.  You can check out the Dupage River Trail which is in the process of expanding and enjoy the sunshine and warm weather.  Soak up some Vitamin D, get exercise and allow your kids to play outdoors on this lovely trail. You can also send your children to the village’s Day Camp for a fun and safe experience.   In the winter, while you may not want to go hiking or biking, there is still plenty to do.  Great indoor activities planned by the village’s Parks and Recreation Department include movie-making classes, ballet for “Mommy and Me” classes and more!

Aurora, Illinois’ second largest city, is not far from this smaller town.  In the winter months, you may be interested in indoor attractions such as the Aurora Historical Society, SciTech Interactive Science Museum or the Aurora Regional Fire Museum.  OR, if movie history is more your thing, go eat at the White Castle where “Wayne’s World” was filmed!  That will surely be a story to tell your friends!
